My mom always tells me I must have been born in the wrong generation. I'm not your average "techy" nineteen year old. I would rather get mail with postage then a comment with hash-tags, and I never thought I'd understand social media sites and blogs.
At first glance, I thought blogs to be nonsense. Someone (or a group of someones) types about anything they want. Adds pictures that they want to show off, or just get out onto the world wide web. Then they wrap it up with a "thanks for reading, follow me on Twitter" or a link to donate to their cause. After looking around, sorting through corporate and personal blogs, it hit me; what is a magazine? A tabloid? What is a newspaper for that matter? All of these sources are printed blogs, (with sometimes more credible information, but that's beside the point) written, edited, and spruced up to entertain most audiences. This realization made understanding and writing about blogs much easier for me.

Climbing up the humongous granite peaks of the Patagonia region in Argentina, skateboarding through Tibet, dropping into the "Stairway to Heaven" while rafting on the winded Zambezi River. Do these people ever sleep? I envy them all. The Cleanest Line, is a blog from the outdoor gear and clothing company Patagonia. I never realized a company such as this one would have such a personal side to it. Employees and ambassadors are the bloggers, and their entries consist of adventures, lessons, and environmentalist endeavors as well. As a wannabe adventurist, it was difficult to get through the blog because the amazing experiences of these total strangers are only events that happen in my dreams. Or Danny Boyle movies.
This next blog coming straight from the hands of a former 'desperate housewife'. The Everywhereist's husband's job required him to travel. A lot. Her job pushing pencils was not so fulfilling; conveniently, she was laid off and allowed the opportunity to finally tag along on his business trips. Through these "business trips", she blogged about, well, just about every part of the venture. From the people on the plane ride over, to the native food they had when they arrived. I really enjoyed this blog not only because of the traveling aspect, but because of her sarcastic sense of humor sprinkled throughout.
